The Vampire's Kiss - A Love Sonnet

The Vampire's Kiss

The tender touch of lips burns like a light
And like a rising mist, this deep'ning kiss
Blots out all thought save sensual delight.
I've tasted love - but no love burned like this.

I feel your breath escape - a shivered hiss
Mixed with my breath. Your body shudders. Tight
As Titan's grip your arms embrace me - This
Is our time. We share our love this night.

Long have we waited for this fated night.
A rendezvous: a tryst we dared not miss.
Anticipation, lust, desire and fright
Add passion's fevered fervour to our bliss.

Then in the morning, I shall steal away;
Though soon I shall return, at end of day.

This poem was composed just last night, at Viva Voce.
